How does Mefenamic Acid work?

Prostaglandins are produced in the body, but they cause pain and inflammation at the site of injury or damage. Mefenamic acid prevents the production of prostaglandins by blocking the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzyme. • mifepristone (taken to end a pregnancy)
• certain antibiotics
• tacrolimus
• medicines for HIV or AIDS.
